General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Section of the State Bar of Texas

Chair's Letter

Dear GP Solo Members,

Thank you for your membership in the General Practice, Solo, and Small Firm Section of the State Bar of Texas! I am excited to serve as your chair this year! GP Solo is about supporting the practices of our members and representing your voices to the State Bar of Texas. It's our mission to help make Texas a great place for you to practice law and to find new ways to support you in your law practice.

This year, we will focus on modernizing our section, getting to know more about our section members and finding new ways to encourage and support your practices. We would like to know what you think about practicing law in Texas today and your ideas to make the practice of law better for you in Texas.

Among other things, we are excited to be working on a lunch and learn webinar series that will be geared towards law practice management topics and also some topics more geared towards the practice areas of our members. Please let us know if you have any ideas for webinars or if you would like to present at a webinar.

We are partnering with the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) to update the “Law in a Flash” project where we will provide useful information and forms such as engagement agreements and client questionnaires for attorneys.

Leave Us Your Feedback or Get Involved!

Please share any thoughts or ideas you have with us by using the “Contact Us” Page. Your input is very important for all of us. We are always looking for volunteers and new council members. Being a member of the council gives you a chance to elevate and represent lawyers just like you all over the state and provides great opportunities for learning about the inner workings of the state bar as well as other leadership and speaking opportunities.

All the best to you for a great year!
